The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing and monitoring functional and secure computer networks, including local area and multi-tenant networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the internet, intranets, and other data communication systems. They are a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that underpins our financial technology solutions. This role works on diverse projects, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and contributes to the success of us and our clients in the financial industry.
What you will do here:
Network Architecture and Design:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient network architectures to support the delivery of financial technology solutions to multiple credit unions.
Collaborate with solution architects to ensure network designs align with client requirements.
Network Security:
Implement and manage robust network security measures to safeguard sensitive financial data.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.
Network Implementation and Maintenance:
Lead the implementation of network infrastructure projects, ensuring successful deployment within specified timelines.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, monitor network performance, and proactively address issues to ensure optimal reliability.
Multi-Client Support:
Provide support for network-related inquiries and issues from multiple credit unions.
Collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents.
Network Optimization and Performance Tuning:
Optimize network configurations to ensure maximum performance and efficiency.
Conduct performance tuning activities and implement improvements to meet the evolving needs of our financial technology solutions.
Participate in an on-call rotation, working some nights and weekends as the schedule requires.
Documentation and Training:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architectures, configurations, and procedures.
Provide training and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staff.
Vendor Management:
Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new technologies and solutions, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives.
Manage relationships with network equipment and service providers.
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related topic
Equivalent combination of education and experience
8+ years Network Design, Network Engineering, Data Center Management
5+ years of Management of Palo Alto Firewalls
5+ years working in a regulated environment providing SOX, PCI, SSAE, NCUA, or FDIC governance
1+ years experience in the financial industry or with credit union systems is a plus preferred.
Proven expertise as a Network Engineer with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructures required.
Deep understanding of routing and switching protocols in a highly available data center environment required.
Deep knowledge of supporting infrastructure related disaster recovery scenarios
Strong knowledge of network protocols, security, and performance optimization techniques
Expertise constructing security policies using Palo Alto Firewalls required.
Technical problem solving ability using tools such as WireShark, vRealize Network Insight, and Panorama required.
Excellent communication skills required.
Expertise in server administration, Security administration, Cloud and emerging technologies such as Software Defined Networks preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment required.
Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE required.
Palo Alto ACE preferred.
Cisco VoIP or other technical certifications preferred.
