The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support high-profile cases within the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC., Educational Opportunities Section (EOS).


This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Civil Rights Section Chiefs, lead attorneys, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses. Responsibilities include attending depositions, collaborating with attorney teams on settlement agreements, working with DOJ experts, and reviewing contracts.


The Senior Paralegal plays a pivotal role in case success, often serving as a key contributor to the team’s eff orts. This role provides a chance to develop essential skills such as time and task management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to convey complex issues succinctly. You will also gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge legal tools, including Relativity, Case Map, Text Map, and Trial Director.


Please Note: This is a hybrid position with at least two (2) days onsite in the office in Washington, DC; candidate must reside in the Washington, DC metro area.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal.

  • Conduct moderately complex legal research and draft preliminary memoranda and correspondence.

  • Summarize transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use.

  • Review case materials to identify conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation.

  • Collaborate with Contractor staff and trial teams.

Position Details:

  • This is an on-site position with some telework flexibility. Travel within the U.S. is required approximately 25% of the time to support trials.



Qualifications:

Required:

  • Paralegal certificate required.

  • At least two years of litigation paralegal experience.

  • At least two years of experience with automated litigation support tools.

  • Proficiency in Relativity.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and resources.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.

  • Hands-on familiarity with various computer applications, including document review and management systems, spreadsheets, and e-discovery tools.

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Desired:

  • Trial experience is highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in speaking and reading Spanish is a plus.

  • You’ll play a critical role in shaping the outcomes of vital cases and contribute to advancing justice.

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
 

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:

$31.69
