We are looking for an experienced Senior Paralegal with extensive knowledge of managing corporate governance. The role will work closely with the functions and operations within the region and will be based in Houston, Texas.
 

As a Senior Paralegal, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a complex docket with minimal supervision; monitoring deadlines and notifying attorneys of pressing issues.

  • Maintaining a tickler system for important dates and assuring the quality of file preparation.

  • Generating reports, performing legal research, and investigating case details as needed.

  • Compiling and organizing records, analyzing data, and drafting substantive legal and administrative documents.

  • Anticipating and coordinating legal support projects to completion.

  • Guiding legal secretaries, legal assistants, and junior paralegals as needed.

  • Conducting legal research and drafting documents to support attorneys.

  • Implementing and managing matter/contract management systems, E-billing systems, and DocuSign; training end-users.

  • Maintaining SharePoint database for legal holds and managing document production/E-discovery.

  • Assisting in creating MSAs, NDAs, T&Cs, and other legal templates.

  • Reviewing discovery, contracts, and engagement letters.

  • Receiving and responding to service requests; managing others’ responses and coordinating with outside counsel.

  • Responding to subpoenas and researching new legal hold tools/requirements.

  • Overseeing legal hold requirements, including tool selection and process management.

  • Preparing and issuing legal holds and chains of custody for departing employees.

  • Managing case status and matter management.

  • Maintaining legal trackers (e.g., services, legal holds, mediations).

  • Preparing quarterly litigation reviews and year-end reporting for finance.

  • Conducting yearly litigation audit for accounting/finance.

  • Updating and maintaining legal templates and tools, including NDAs, MOUs, Legal Handbooks, and pre-bid agreements.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certification

  • Bachelor's Law degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with demonstrated experience in Legal)

  • 8+ years of solid paralegal experience, with significant focus in one or more areas of law

  • Ability to anticipate tasks in support of legal matters

  • Demonstrated ability to handle substantive assignments, handle a heavy docket and change focus with shifting priorities.

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and processes

  • Demonstrated docketing ability
