Hexagon Lavish® is an antiartificial scientific R&D startup based in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in performance of immediate materials characterization and information retrieval technique development and implementation. The company's introductory product, PIR: Premier Information Retrieval, is informational interpretation software and service that amplifies and maximizes the utility of computer vision and image processing. 

Our technology, informational interpretation, rests at the sub-root of information retrieval and is designed to perform an IMMEDIATE detection functionality utilizing a combination of image processing and computer vision. Our product-in-development, PIR: Premier Information Retrieval, exemplifies the aforementioned performance.

Position Overview

Hexagon Lavish® is an antiartificial scientific research and development startup in Atlanta, Georgia that has an opening for a full-time/permanent position for a Computational Chemist.

The Computational Chemist will be required to draw emphasis on computational capabilities beyond measure to expand upon the concurrent research and development concerning informational interpretation by implementing reaction dynamics and molecular dynamics as well as molecular orbital theory. The Computational Chemist will need to know how to take "the impractical and make it practical". 

The Computational Chemist will work in concert with the Materials Scientist in materials characterization and informational interpretation in regards to identity functions as they relate to "a material's emergence" ("object tagging").

The Computational Chemist will report directly to the Chief Science Officer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the generation and exploration of ideas using cheminformatics tools
  • Generate predictive models for physical property calculations
  • Participate in project planning and execution
  • Create and manage databases
  • Characterize solid materials by measuring loss on ignition, bulk density, absorption, gradation and moisture content
  • Exploit the mechanics of materials sensitive/insensitive to light diffraction
  • Discover and implement manipulations of organic/inorganic structures
  • Utilize different numerical approximations for two-particles solutions
  • Engage in the Extended Huckel Theory
  • Model the "behavior" of molecules in specific objects (i.e., food) using simulations and camera applications
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains programs
  • Adapt recent innovations from computing technology and applied mathematics
  • Applies existing custom research software to both well-defined and complex problems
  • Adhere to project-specific software development guidelines and practices
  • Maintain strong dedication to the implementation and perpetuation of values and ethics
  • Gather, record, analyze, interpret, and provide written reports of results
  • Understand and apply advanced scientific principles, theories, concepts, practices and standards to process and analytical development

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Experience with developing and testing numerical environmental prediction codes in a high-performance computing environment
  • Teamwork and the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas
  • Ph.D. (with 4 years of industrial experience) in a relevant discipline (immunology, chemistry, engineering, biomaterials or related physical sciences)
  • Active collaboration with teaming partners, research facilities and academic organizations
  • Demonstrated skill in communicating effectively with scientists of diverse backgrounds on technical details of the work plan and present results accurately and clearly in both oral and written form
  • Prepare and deliver reports and/or presentations of research projects/analysis results to the Chief Science Officer
  • Apply safety-related knowledge, skills and practices to mundane duties and responsibilities to work

BASE SALARY for this position is conditioned by a "24 on/off-schedule" that awards a certain amount per hour.

This position is a full-time/permanent position and requires a "24 on/off-schedule" that equates to a minimum of forty (40) hours per week
