Job Description:
As a Staff Accountant, you will assist in the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting senior accounting staff with various accounting functions.
*This is a hybrid-office position and regular attendance in the office is required in Concord, CA. Remote applicants will NOT be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transaction Processing:
Record daily transactions into the accounting system (e.g., journal entries, ad hoc payments).
Assist with payroll processing and maintain accurate payroll records.
2. Account Reconciliation:
Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist with reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
3. Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and update financial records and documents.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
4. General Ledger Support:
Assist in maintaining the general ledger.
Support the preparation of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
5. Reporting:
Prepare and assist with financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and other financial summaries.
Generate reports for management and internal use as requested.
6. Compliance and Controls:
Adhere to accounting policies and procedures.
Support internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
7. Audit Support:
Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
Provide necessary documentation and information for audit reviews.
8. Administrative Support
Perform general administrative duties related to accounting, such as data entry, filing, and office organization.
Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous accounting experience or internships are a plus, but not required.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Workday and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and processes.
The estimated pay range stated below represents the typical pay range for this position or similarly employed employees or employees performing substantially similar work. Factors which may be used to determine the actual pay rate may include, but are not limited to, education, training or experience; seniority; merit and work performance; quantity or quality of production; regional differences in compensation; differences in local minimum wages, or ability and effort.
Pay Range for the position is $33.65 to $38.46 per hour.
