Your Mission: The Volunteer and Scholarship Program Coordinator works with internal and external entities to manage, develop, recruit and promote all Sun Health scholarship programs. This position is primarily funded through the Warren D. Ruff Scholarship Endowment and therefore serves as the primary administration support for the management of scholarships.

Key Responsibilities:
- Learns and maintains understanding of the intricacies of the scholarship programs to support proper implementation of program requirements.
- Provides oversight and supervision of scholarship programs by working with the Foundation team, auditing documentation of existing Foundation funds to ensure all donor agreements adhere to Sun Health policy, and monitoring active scholarship accounts to ensure that accounts to be used in awarding scholarships are funded and fall within established guidelines.
- Facilitate the setting of year-to-year scholarship award amounts, monitors and ensures compliance with donor agreement guidelines, works with educational institutions to negotiate changes to guidelines when appropriate in order to award scholarships.
- Serves as the liaison with the Sun Health Foundation and the scholarship committees to develop and implement policies and procedures to be used by the scholarship committees in determining Foundation scholarship awards.
- Maintains an accurate list of all scholarship committee members and donors to facilitate communication. Assures donor confidentiality as well as the confidentiality of the projects undertaken by conducting all personal contacts and communications with donors in a professional manner.
- Serves as the main point of contact for scholarship coordination between Sun Health entities, external educational institutions and students.
- Facilitates positive donor relations by representing Sun Health at functions and meetings as assigned and working with donors and potential donors, alumni, students, friends, and various constituencies of the educational institutions to strengthen their ties to Sun Health.
- Facilitates and supports the accomplishment of established fundraising goals by developing and maintaining cordial and professional working relationships with University administrative, support, and professional departmental staff and appropriate off-campus constituencies.
- Coordinate with marketing department to develop web-based and social media communications for the promotion of all scholarship programs, recipients, and alumni testimonies.
- Conducts educational scholarship application workshops for current and potential team members.
- Serves as the point of contact to provide information, communication and ongoing guidelines support for potential and ongoing scholarship recipients. Tracks communication with applicants and scholarship recipients.
- Educates staff and volunteers on program processes.
- Ensures the integrity of the student application data with the database.
- Design and perform application data imports and exports for reporting.
- Serves as the communication liaison between Sun Health Foundation, Finance and educational institutions departments to facilitate the flow of financial information to campus scholarship coordinators prior to awards.
- Coordinates and manages the scholarship communication, notification and student to donor thank you processes.
- Responsible for the presenting and distribution of awards process.
- Responsible for maintaining relationship with Finance Department to ensure that funds are distributed based on charter guidelines.
- Annually compiles and reports metrics to necessary parties including: Committee Members, Sun Health Board Members and Banner Health Leaders.
- Maintain Scholarship Data Management Guide by detailing all job-related standard operating procedures.
- Identify and implement improvements in job-related processes.
- Develop and implement a volunteer strategy that fosters long-term relationships with volunteers.
- Recruit, screen, and match volunteers with appropriate opportunities across Sun Health enterprises.
- Create and maintain volunteer policies, orientation materials, and recognition programs.
- Track volunteer participation and manage communication protocols.
- Represent Sun Health at community events, promoting volunteerism and scholarship opportunities.
- Work with the Development team to convert volunteers into donors and maintain positive donor relations.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Business-related field preferred.
- Professional experience in scholarship funding and managing donor relationships required,
- Experience with coordinating financial aid or college admissions preferred.
- Prior experience in fundraising or development work preferred.
- Database management and reporting experience preferred.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
- Possess current or has the ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
- Requires reliable transportation in employee provided vehicle, current Driver's license and auto insurance.
