The ISEF serves high school students 9-12 as the world's largest pre-collegiate STEM research competition, gathering thousands of high school students from around the world. Its success is dependent on volunteer support at all levels, particularly in identifying over 1,000 qualified judges, 200 interpreters across multiple languages and 500 general volunteers to support the week-long competition. Each year a Local Arrangements Committee is identified in the host city to support the manager's volunteer recruitment and onsite management efforts. Additionally, there are several core volunteer committees established to support management of the competition throughout the year and onsite.
