This is a dual role where you will work within the consult social value team. 50% of your time will be to plan and promote volunteering events for the UK business and support international teams with recording and reporting their volunteering and fundraising activities and developing case studies to promote volunteering across the business. The other 50% of your time will be spent on delivery social value services to new and existing clients across the UK/Global as part of the social value consult team. This can include delivering social value activities and events, monitoring and reporting social value performance, bid response support and providing other elements of the social value service line.
You’ll be responsible for:
Coordination and Facilitation:
- Identify, coordinate, plan and facilitate community, education, and biodiversity volunteering activities for Mace employees.
- Create and promote case studies and reports for Mace colleagues and external partners as required.
- Facilitate volunteering opportunities and ensuring that all volunteers have the correct information and briefings to complete their volunteering activity.
- Supporting volunteering champions and Mace employees/teams to register and promote volunteering opportunities through Mace channels and systems.
Partner and Stakeholder Management:
- Work with volunteering champions and project teams to promote volunteering opportunities.
- Delivering presentations to Mace business units to promote employee volunteering and the process for recording and reporting activities.
- Be the main point of contact for internal and external partners and stakeholders for employee volunteering enquiries and communications. Partners and stakeholder include internal Mace colleagues, client teams, Mace Foundation, charity/third sector partners and supply chain partners.
Monitoring and Reporting performance data:
- Responsible for recording, monitoring, and reporting for all volunteering activities using current data management systems in place, this includes outcomes for partners and clients (biodiversity partners).
- Quality assurance of data reported monthly and evidencing data checks and reviews.
- Provide monthly performance reports to the volunteering indicator lead for corporate reporting including any trends, best practice or areas for improvement.
- Responsible for updating PowerBi dashboards or reports.
- Maintaining data systems for volunteering activities.
- Attendance at meetings and communications events to share volunteering opportunities, targets, and performance.
Communications:
- Provide regular content to PR/MarCom’s teams to promote employee volunteering events and activities (DIY, biodiversity etc).
- Prepare case studies of volunteering events/activities from across the UK/Global business.
- Handle any requests, queries and issues in a professional manner in line with the Mace values and behaviours.
50% Social Value allocation:
- Responsible for delivering social value consultancy services for both public and private sector clients.
- Accountable for service excellence, delivering purpose-led and measurable outcomes for clients, focusing on social value and sustainability.
- Supports the development of social value and sustainability frameworks/strategies with clients and on individual projects, including agreeing outcomes and ensuring their delivery by the project teams.
- Support and manage the development of social value Implementation plans and technical standards, working with supply chain partners and consultants to develop social value metrics, and reporting mechanisms.
- Deliver social value consultancy include strategy, programme design and overseeing delivery including, designing social value programmes and activities, promote the economic valuation of social value outcomes and non- financial reporting, assisting clients to maximise social value through procurement processes, identifying social value KPI’s and processes to monitor delivery.
- Provide technical expertise and promote innovation in a particular area of social value, such as social value measurement frameworks e.g. V2S, TOMS, SV portal. ethical procurement, EDI, maturity assessments etc.
Management responsibilities
- Manage team member/s and champion career development such that they can work to the best of their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
- Shares knowledge and insights from the sector, including project case studies and thought leadership.
- Supports work winning through bid support, innovation, client liaison and external profile-raising of Mace/Mace services. Including creating case studies and economic valuation reports using Value2Society framework.
- Work collaboratively towards the corporate target of £700M Value2Society and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated social value measurements and wider society benefits during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
- Communication\: excellent communication skills, both oral and written, ability to present technical topics in a simple way to a variety of audiences.
- Collaborator\: ability to engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels in a collaborative manner.
- Relationship management\: Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to different work environments. Effective problem solver, negotiator, conflict management.
- Influence\: Ability to positively influence others, creative thinker able to proactively answer questions and identify solutions.
- Subject matter expertise\: Knowledge, understanding and expertise of the latest social value drivers, policies and delivery mechanisms. Knowledge of non-financial value reporting frameworks and economic valuation.
- Solid administration and IT skills – advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Publisher. These include diary management, meeting organisation, monitoring and processing people data in accordance with GDPR.
- Be self-motivated, able to self-manage and ability to manage several tasks concurrently.
- Be excited by the role, and the potential positive impacts that will be generated.
You’ll also have:
- Technical knowledge\: Social value and quantification methodologies i.e. TOMS, V2S, SV Portal. Suitable professional member/s (ICRS, CMI Level 3- 5, Social Value Practitioner).
- Ability to learn to use new IT systems to input data relating to Mace staff.
