ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking an early-career Water Resources Engineer to work from our South Portland, Maine office to support our water resource and environmental projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Riverine hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, dam removal and river restoration, coastal and riverine flood analysis, and design of stormwater management facilities,
  • Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects
  • Prepare reports for hydraulic and stormwater analyses and designs
  • Conduct data collection and field work
  • Analysis and design of stormwater treatment

Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of experience required; 1-3 years preferred civil/ environmental engineering experience
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis
  • Familiarity with stormwater management design, Low Impact Development/green infrastructure design, grading and site design.
  • AutoCAD or MicroStation and GIS experience strongly desired
  • FE strongly desired
