Womenswear Designer
Location – East London
Salary to £35K + Bens
We have been working very closely with a well-established and successful clothing manufacturers who have a hold at both high street supply but also brands of their own continue their growth plans for 2024 towards 2025 and are looking for a multi-product womenswear designer to join the supply side of the business working on high street accounts including supermarkets
DUTIES:
Identifying and translating the must-have trends and key shapes for the season for young Women’s fashion jersey and woven product.
Liaise with customers, factories, design team and management to create trend focused samples.
Present concepts and designs to customers at key points in the season, using imagery, cads and samples to communicate progress of ideas.
Working closely with the Senior Design team to design and create a Womenswear collection that reflects newness in trend and hits commercial needs.
Produce detailed tech packs and liaise with factories.
Building relationships with suppliers and advising factories on direction, construction, key details, materials, and trims.
Adhering to the critical path to achieve deadlines, ensuring product is developed for the relevant and optimum selling period.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE TO BE SHORTLISTED
A recent and solid grounding in high street ladieswear jersey and woven multi product design experience working either in a high street supplier or high street retailer
A solid understanding of garment construction and production constraints.
Excellent Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills for producing cad ranges and tech packs
A strong flair for fashion with a commercial handwriting to create exciting, fashion-forward ranges.
Illustrate ideas and concepts with engaging sketches and CAD artwork.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work on their own or collaboratively as part of a team.
Creative and innovative. You’ll need to have an imaginative eye and constant motivation for staying ahead of trends.
Strong organisation skills and able to use their initiative and work in a high-pressured environment
The ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
Must be flexible and willing to expand on the required job role to help fulfil the needs of the department
Eligible to work in the UK and commute to Shoreditch daily
