Glen Raven is recruiting for a Yarn/Fiber Lead Lab Technician is responsible for monitoring and analyzing data from the various on-line monitoring systems including Uster and Murata. Provide immediate feedback to section leaders, technicians, and management when corrective action is required. Also assist Yarn/Fiber Lab Technician with lab testing as needed.


THIS JOB IS 7am-3pm, Monday through Friday and 2-4 hours on two (2) Saturdays a month for inventory and lab testing.  Must be able to function as FILL-IN SHIFT LEADER for 12 hour shifts (7am-7pm AND 7pm - 7am) as needed.


Responsibilities: 



  • Follow company policies, safe work practices, prevent injury to yourself and other employees

  • Report any unsafe work conditions or any work-related injury to your supervisor immediately

  • Monitor the Uster Sliver Data system and Uster Cone Data for potential quality issues

  • Monitor Murata Visual Manager system for potential problems and trends

  • Report potential quality/productivity issues to section leaders, technicians and/or management

  • Assist section leaders and technicians when troubleshooting potential problems identified by on-line monitoring

  • Visually inspect machines after color changes

  • Randomly check lot sheets in spinning and twisting

  • Conduct twister vibration checks

  • Randomly check package density

  • Randomly check and verify twister package labels

  • Perform random machine audits as directed by management

  • Perform all assigned tasks to the best of one’s ability

  • Perform all assigned tasks safely

  • Assist in checking bales as received

  • Collect fiber samples from containers as received

  • Serve as a fill in shift leader for all 4 shifts as required
