Role Summary:

The Linux Systems Administrator at Oneworld Accuracy is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and day-to-day maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. As a key member of the iOPS (Infrastructure Operations) team, you help support a multi-domain environment that collectively has thousands of worldwide users spread across two data centres. You participate in technical research to develop and improve the existing infrastructure, generate policies and procedures for IT use within the organization and support the transition from Windows to GNU-Linux (CentOS).

You will be expected to portray a professional image of the company at all times.

Main Duties:

Planning / AGILE Methodology

• Ensuring the stories for iOPS are logged into the JIRA software, grooming them as necessary to ensure clarity of its aims and objectives

• Plan and organize your work based on assigned tasks from JIRA

• Participate in sprint reviews and daily stand-ups within the team to ensure all road blocks are removed in a timely manner

• Work with vendors and external teams to ensure iOPS Infrastructure issues are not blocking other stories

IT Development

• Research and recommend, deploy and support software and hardware for sustainability and growth

• Maintain and add content of the iOPS Knowledge Base on Confluence

IT Support

• Manage and support the server environment (physical servers and virtual machines based on VMware)

• Be responsible for patching servers and desktops

• Deploy software to servers and desktops

• Manage and support the network (subnets/VLANs), network equipment (switches, wireless), DNS

• Manage and support the firewalls and load balancers

• Manage and support the Veeam backup infrastructure

• Manage and support the Nimble storage environment

• Maintain Active Directory and LDAP

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network connections, printer, operating system and software issues reported through JIRA

• Update, install and support network applications and OS, mainly Linux and Windows

• Source and set-up systems for new users

• Perform routine server and network monitoring to ensure functionality

• Support and maintain collaboration infrastructure (Office 365, open-source collaboration tools, Calendar, Skype etc.)

• Monitor and remove virus, spyware and other non-authorized software

• SAN Management and support (Nimble and EMC)

• Provide support to both on-site and remote users

• Provide support of Cisco VoIP telephone system

Administration

• Create, change and delete user accounts in the IT system

• Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary

• Create and maintenance of IT policies, procedures and technical specifications, creating demos for training and communication of the updates as they occur.

• Maintenance of the IT asset list

• Provide accurate record-keeping and documentation of Infrastructure assets, licensing and deployment

Additional Duties:

• occasional travel to other sites/suppliers may be required

Skills and education:

• required associate bachelor's degree (minimum GPA 3.75) in computer science or a related field, with a certification such as MTCNA or CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network + or Linux System Administrator

• minimum of two years of experience with providing workstation, server, hardware and software support

• Have a minimum of two years of knowledge and experience in the following key technologies at Oneworld Accuracy

o Veeam backup and recovery

o VMware vSphere

o Nimble SAN

o Cisco and Dell networking (wireless and wired) equipment

o Networking technologies and protocols (VLANs, IP subnetting, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN protocols)

o Voice-over-IP (Cisco)

o Microsoft Office 365

o Cisco and pfSense firewalls

o Load balancers (KEMP), SSL

o Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016; Linux CentOS

o Server Applications: Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Apache, Apache Tomcat

o Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP

o JIRA and Confluence

o Nagios
