The administrator works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Senior Manager of Faculty Affairs, as well as with the Schools Executive Director of Finance and Administration and the Student Services team to provide administrative and operational support for the Academic Affairs Office at Pardee School of Global Studies.


 


Specific responsibilities include:


 


Courses and Curricular Management



  • Working with Associate Dean to track and manage course submissions, approvals, and revisions.

  • Conducting annual review of course inventory in various databases/course catalogue, reporting findings to the Dean and Associate Dean.

  • Maintaining database of course syllabi. 

  • Managing course scheduling and participation in curriculum planning.

  • Gaining expertise in BU HUB policies and providing support to the Associate Dean and Pardee Faculty members on all aspects of the process, including HUB approvals and revisions .

  • Working closely with Pardee Student Services, including for course waitlists and prerequisite requirements. 

  • Monitoring course enrollments to comply with minimum requirements. 

  • Attending Pardee School Academic Affairs Committee meetings to review courses and programs. 

  • Maintaining responsibility for cyclical semester functions, including management of course evaluations (including data for tenure & promotion cases), midterms, final grades, final exams. 

  • Assisting the Associate Dean with special projects such as Academic Affairs Committee agenda, and other ongoing activities.


 


Personnel and Appointments 



  • Together with the Associate Dean and the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, manage the part-time adjunct faculty hiring and re-appointment process and the unpaid affiliate appointment process. 

  • Support the Pardee Schools regional and thematic centers on processing and reviewing all unpaid appointment request for Deans approval. 

  • Support the faculty appointment process and act as a back to the Sr. Manager.


Required Skills



  • BA required; MA preferred

  • 3-5 years related experience

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and data management

  • Academic affairs experience
