Job Title: Accountant
Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing a variety of accounting data to assist the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position reports to the Controller.
Essential Functions

1. Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports for monthly financial closing process using ERP system (Syteline) and Microsoft Excel.
2. Generates and analyzes reports for monthly financial closing process.
3. Prepare reports for external accounting firm for annual audits and income tax returns.
4. Manage accounts payable function, including inputting purchase order and expense invoices, issuing all vendor payments, and maintaining and updating vendor records.
5. Participate in annual budget process.
6. Assist with business tax filings such as sales tax returns and annual reports.
7. Train as back-up and assist as needed with accounts receivable function.
8. Focus on process improvements and attention to details.
9. Respond to Controller and Director of Finance as assigned with accurate and timely work.
10. Communicate with co-workers, management, customers, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner.
11. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, the employee may be required to lift up to 30 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 am to 4:30 pm and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field plus one to two years of accounting experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and general computer skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s Degree and CPA designation. Knowledge of Infor Syteline ERP System.
