SUMMARY:

Assigned under the general supervision of the Plant Manager and Corp. Accounting Department. The Accountant is an integral part of the finance team. The role is responsible for providing accurate accounting, inventory and statistical data for management to make timely data-based concerning the financial performance of the business.

 

This position will check inventory figures, billing, postings and documents to ensure accuracy.

Coordinate and assist the accounting department with general administrative support in day-to-day functions as well as performing various duties such as data entry, typing filing, billing and creating invoices, processing work orders. Responsible for paperwork and using excel database, WMS and GP software systems, to maintain inventory accuracy while keeping Safety, Quality, Service, and Profitability in mind at all times.

 

Primarily acts as a liaison amongst and between all departments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and annual accounting and billing statements.
  • Analyzing daily production and month end standard vs actual cost variances and recommending changes to plant manager.
  • Preparing sales, inventory and production reports to management and corporate.
  • Maintain raw materials, packaging and finished- goods inventory quantity accuracy and cost reporting.
  • Reconcile Great Plains (GP) and Warehouse Management accounting systems.
  • Coordinate month-end cost accounting and inventory count procedures.
  • Prepares monthly accounting close cycle, prepares and analyzes accounting and operational reports along with other external parties.
  • Coordinates and ensures timely completion of any and all audits related to accounting.
  • Position acts as the primary inventory control interface amongst the various departments that require information including sales, production, accounting, and material handling.
  • Creating freight pick tickets and all Rebox paperwork.
  • Process daily inventory and process accounts payable in Paper save.
  • Processing Raw Consumption reporting.

 

  • Assist with Lineage release request.

 

  • Scheduling Freight and assist with Manual Outbound Freight (check pallet on pick tickets and matches pallet) as needed. 

 

  •  MUST have basic accounting knowledge and must be extremely knowledgeable in EXCEL.

 

  • This position functions as a primary knowledge base for administration of the Warehouse Management Accounting (Great Plains), High Jump software.

 

  • Works closely with logistics/shipping operations to insure accuracy of order entry and production paperwork. Working with numbers and has good attention to details and distribution to correct locations.

 

  • Needs to be able to take on multiple tasks throughout the workday, prioritize and stay focused.

 

  • This position acts as the “go to” person for the facility and interactions with various corporate offices.

 

  • Works to maintain good morale and positive approach among associates. 

 

  • Must be able to follow directions and have the ability to ask questions and have a positive attitude.

 

  • Must have good punctuality and attendance.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have basic Accounting skills. Ability to align performance objectives and demonstrate strong people skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be skilled with Excel and other computer skills. Knowledge of bookkeeping, and excellent with numbers. Self-motivated and pays attention to detail and accuracy with extreme confidentiality.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Understanding of accounting and cost accounting processes.
  • Must be able to follow direction and guidance from superiors.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member.

 

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Accounting: 1-2 years with equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Excel: 2 years.
  • Must be fluent with MS Office programs. Must have complete knowledge of EXCEL and experience with WMS systems and Great Plains highly desirable.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write complex and or routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to communicate effectively in English with employees and management. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and numbers.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve complex and or practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and in situations where only limited experience exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • The job is fast paced and the employee will need to have the ability to deal with stress is essential.
  • Must be able to wear all PPE requirements.

 

 

SCHEDULE:

  • Fulltime regular positions that work Monday through Friday occasional Saturdays, generally work 8 hours per day, with minimal overtime.
  • Travel is not required for this position.
