Centuria Corporation is seeking a Application Programmer to support the Technical Services for the National Weather Service (NWS) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) located at the National Aeronautics and Space Center (NASA) Stennis Space Center (SSC) in Kiln, MS.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop code from scratch using technologies like Java, C, or C++
  • Fix bugs in existing code.
  • Pull code from Oracle databases and preforming break fixes.
  • Working with environmental and scientific data.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Mathematics
  • 2+ years’ experience in commonly used software development concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Database Administration experience 
  • Experience creating code from scratch.
  • Experience with debugging and break fixes.
  • 2+ years’ experience in converting scientific, engineering, and other technical problem formulations to formats that can be processed by a computer.
  • 2+ years’ experience resolving symbolic formulations, preparing flowcharts and block diagrams, and encoding resultant equations for processing.
  • Ability to apply extensive knowledge of science, engineering, or advanced mathematics, such as differential equations or numerical analysis, and understanding of capabilities and limitations of a computer.
