Associate, Apparel Technical Designer - Juniors

The Technical Designer will collaborate closely with the Technical Design Leader and Design Team to maintain fit and construction standards. You'll be responsible for are measuring sample prior fitting and making note in the fitting and complete the fit reports after fitting. This role is essential for achieving departmental goals and ensuring brand integrity throughout the production fitting process while keeping the customer in mind.

Responsibilities

• Participant weekly fit sessions. Collaborate with the team lead and design teams to translate fit and aesthetic details into a real garment.
• Makes appropriate recommendations in collaboration with peer teams on matters pertaining to specs, pattern, construction methods and techniques to improve fit, balance, and overall quality of the garment.
• Maintains fit consistency for product area. Ensures standard grade rules are applied to each garment follow customer or in-house grade.
• Ensures Product Lifecycle Calendar dates are met with Garment Fit Approval.
• Communicates to overseas offices or vendor partners on daily basis to maintain deadlines and problem solve fit and/or quality issues.

• BA/BS in Fashion Technical Design preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the apparel industry, including patternmaking; experience in Technical Design or Fashion Design is required
• Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of pattern making, fit, balance, garment construction, fabrics, and their performance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with web-based applications such as PDM, PLM, FLEX PLM, or similar software

Hybrid Work Schedule

3 days a week in the office, 2 days work from home

New York Pay Rate $50,000 - $65,000
