The Ballistic Lab Technician is responsible for performing ballistic testing within the Ballistic Research Lab (BRL), in support of Research and Development, Manufacturing, Quality Control and Sales, to facilitate the company’s growth and expand our market presence. The Ballistic Lab Technician is required to perform ballistic tests in accordance to NIJ and various Government and Military standards. They will be required to interpret results, make recommendations for improvements and assure that all testing is done in an accurate and representative fashion. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:


LOCATION: CENTRAL LAKE, MICHIGAN

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 


  • Manage equipment and supplies required to support the BRL.
  • Prepare ballistic test reports and ISO documentation.
  • Prepare, set-up and shoot ballistic samples. Maintain the ballistic range in a functional and orderly condition. 
  • Interact with customers, suppliers and external labs.
  • Manage multiple projects. 
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word).
  • Experience with firearms and ammunition.
  • Experience with ballistic materials.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Precision measurement.
  • Lifting 50 - 75 pounds routinely 
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written, verbal and listening)
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates Armor Express Core Values .


Work Environment:

This job is indoors in a traditional manufacturing/warehouse setting. Activities are primarily done while standing.
