Business Systems Analyst

Position Title:            Business Systems Analyst

Available:                   ASAP

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Business Systems Analyst to support all areas of the College by providing system analysis, design, and reporting in support of the development, implementation, planning and maintenance of effective and efficient systems solutions.


In this challenging position, the successful candidate will report to the Director of Information Systems and be responsible for 

  • Facilitates all data inquiry requests  and analytic reports using Microsoft reporting tools as required
  • Troubleshoots technical issues and identifies modifications needed in existing applications to meet user requirements
  • Oversee day-to-day business support of data reporting applications acting as a point of contact; ensure that activities follow established processes, requirements and criteria
  • Implementation and operation, troubleshooting technical issues and identifying modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements,
  • Analyzing data in corporate databases and assessing potential data integrity issues with existing or proposed systems,
  • Playing a key role in the collection, documentation and management of user requirements,
  • Assessing information technology and data or system requirements of clients
  • Assessing impact on service delivery/ resources functionality and cost savings
  • Participating or facilitating business process mapping/ modelling
  • Assisting in creation of system design and functional specifications for all new development projects
  • Developing complete system, operating and user documentation
  • Developing project plans for all major projects you are engaged in, project documentation and user guides

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-Secondary education in systems analysis, computer science or equivalent education
  • 5-7 years in a Business Systems Analyst role
  • Excellent understanding of database and programming concepts
  • Demonstrated skills with MS SQL, SSRS, Power BI, database development and administration
  • Demonstrated skill in developing reports from multiple data sources
  • Exposure and understanding of Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Experience with MS Project or similar software
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation/communication skills with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment in a highly confidential environment
