Description

As the Business Systems Analyst, you will be a key contributor to the success of the Credit Union's core banking systems and applications. Your ability to understand business needs, translate them into system requirements, and ensure smooth operations will play a vital role in delivering quality services to the members of LCCU. The primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the LCCU systems meet the requirements to help achieve our business strategy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support for the LCCU’s core banking systems and applications.
  • Act as the main point of contact for user inquiries and system-related questions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements related to core banking systems.
  • Work closely with various teams, including Operations, Lending, Retail, and IT, to understand and translate their needs into system requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, investigate system errors, and coordinate with technical teams for prompt resolution.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and enhancements to optimize processes and enhance the member experience.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to prioritize and implement these enhancements, ensuring alignment with business objectives, defining test plans, performing system testing, and validating the accuracy and functionality of new features or changes.
  • Facilitate the integration of core banking systems with other applications and third-party vendors.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define integration requirements, coordinate testing and implementation, and ensure seamless data flow between systems.
  • Document, maintain, and execute detailed test cases to validate system functionality, identify and document software defects, and track test case execution status.
  • Perform system testing using manual testing methodologies and techniques including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance.
  • Proactively identify gaps in the testing processes and provide effective suggestions to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including user guides, standard operating procedures, and system configuration details.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, patches, and releases.
  • Analyze data from core banking systems to generate reports and insights for business stakeholders. Based on the data analysis, identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and ensure that core banking systems comply with relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; at least eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience working with complex IT infrastructures.
  • 1-3 years of proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst, or Quality Assurance Analyst, preferably within the financial industry or credit union environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of core banking systems and applications is preferred.
  • Previous experience of Jack Henry systems is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of business analysis, reporting of business data, problem identification, resolution, and root cause analysis within business systems/applications.
  • Sound practice in documenting requirements, business use cases, process flow diagrams, and design for best use for the business.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance methodologies and end-to-end system testing.
  • Must have outstanding attention to detail and the ability to learn complex processes that affect various functions and business units within the credit union.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Team player who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to travel to other locations throughout the state as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal team and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage time with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently.
  • Ability to work on-site, not available for WFH.

Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, use the computer and telephone to complete work, and lift up to 30 pounds at times.
