Responsibilities






We are seeking a Cardiac Care Nurse (Nights), internally referred to as our Cardiac Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) at St Joseph Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Cardiac Nurse plays a critical role in attending to patients with heart conditions, cardiac issues, and associated illnesses, provide tailored care to enhance recovery and enhance quality of life.

 

Bonus Options: Up to a $20,000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days)

Shift’s Available:  Nights – (17% to 22% differential in pay)

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 12hr options – Self Schedule

 

** If you are a licensed Registered Nurse (RN), we're prepared to provide training to suitable candidates for this role. Newly graduated RNs are encouraged to apply. No experience needed, entry-level **

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • monitor patients' cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities, which is crucial for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, heart attacks, or other cardiac conditions
  • administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs, cardiac medications, and pain management medications
  • perform assessments of patients' cardiac status, including physical assessments, review medical histories, and evaluate symptoms
  • provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices
  • React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias, cardiac arrests, or respiratory distress, necessitating immediate implementation of emergency procedures, administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and aiding in defibrillation and other crucial life-saving measures








Qualifications






EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • current and valid state RN License
  • current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
  • current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
  • previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred
  • ventilator management experience preferred
  • Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
