Ashford Hospital has 9 operating theatres, 1 procedure room, 2 angiography labs, an emergency department, maternity services, 24/7 cardiac emergency centre and a 24 bed level 3 critical care unit.

About the Role:


·       As a Document Improvement Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery. Your meticulous attention to detail and expertise in clinical documentation will directly affect patient care outcomes, driving positive change and setting new standards of excellence.


·       As a Cardiac Data Liaison Nurse, you will perform a range of activities including assisting with data collection, checking data completeness and quality, submitting data to the ANZCTS database, liaising with clinical and ANZSCTS Database staff and reporting to hospital staff as appropriate.

As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will be at the forefront of this mission, driving positive change and shaping the future of healthcare.


Key Responsibilities:


·       Reviewing medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards


·       Ensuring the clinical documentation accurately reflects the patient's condition and treatments and meets Australian Coding Standards


·       Collaborating with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies


·       Educating staff on best practices for clinical documentation and coding


·       Analysing trends and providing insights to improve documentation processes and outcomes


·       Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery


·       Ensuring all cardiothoracic surgical cases are collected into the ANZSCTS database


·       Ensuring completion of the ANZSCTS case report forms


·       Entering new cases into the ANZSCTS Database in a timely and accurate manner


·       Providing support to site staff


·       Liaising with the ANZSCTS database data management and analysis centre


 


Qualifications/ Skills:


·       Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and current AHPRA Nursing Registration


·       Minimum 4 years recent cardiac nursing or ICU nursing experience


·       Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and regulatory requirements


·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


·       Attention to detail and critical thinking abilities


·       Competency with Microsoft Office software (word, excel)


·       Proficiency in the use of web browsers

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the “Adelaide Community Healthcare Alliance (ACHA) & Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) South Australian Branch – Nurses’ & Midwives – Enterprise Agreement – 2021-2024 (‘Agreement’ or ‘Enterprise Agreement’)” (salaries range between $31.07-$53.49 per hour).
