The Position

An exciting opportunity has developed working with our fantastic partner and team, for an experienced debt recovery lawyer to join our successful and growing team.

We offer work as a ‘whole project’ approach, providing expert legal advice from inception to delivery and completion amongst other great offerings.

The position is based in our stunning Sydney CBD office which boasts glass walls allowing ample natural light, impressive board, and meetings rooms, lots of break out spaces, open plan seating and hybrid working arrangements.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have technical skills of:


  1. At minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in relation to debt recovery;

  2. Preparing letters of demand;

  3. Preparing statements of claim, course of action, the nature and the amount of the claim;

  4. Arranging service of the statement of claims and after 28 days file a defence;

  5. Managing entering into negotiations to avoid litigation;

  6. Preparing an application for default judgement;

  7. Compliance with our QMS processes; and

  8. All necessary steps of the debt recovering process from issuing a Letter of Demand to Enforcing Judgment.

In addition, you will possess:


  1. A current practising certificate with a minimum of 4 years’ post qualified experience in Debt Recovery & Litigation.

  2. Exhibit strong problem solving and time management skills.

  3. Be motivated, dynamic, career-orientated and a team player.

  4. Be professionally presented with initiative and superior communication skills.
