DescriptionThe Director, Corporate Real Estate & Facilities Management oversees the strategic direction, operations, and management of Rheem’s manufacturing facility and innovation center footprint. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, deep industry knowledge, and a proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing facilities across the globe. The Director, Corporate Real Estate & Facilities Management leads a diverse team of resources, collaborating closely with executives, to ensure that our facilities and innovation centers uphold the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, sustainability, and experiences.
This position will serve our Enterprise Division, located in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid).
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a global properties and facilities management strategy which is aligned with organizational goals, objectives, and growth initiatives.
- Develop and lead a high performing agile team of facility and real estate managers, engineers, and support staff to ensure consistent performance, operational efficiency, and financial management.
- Aspire to be a best-in-class facilities and property management organization.
- Planning/Capital Projects/Construction Management
- Oversee capital construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion
- Owns long-range planning for facility capital investment and asset preservation
- Balances both internal project management and leveraging external firms to achieve success
Operational Excellence
- Oversee facility budgeting, financial planning, and cost management to achieve operational efficiency and profitability goals.
- Lead and influence operational initiatives including maintenance, security, space planning, renovations, and new construction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness, sustainability practices, and guest satisfaction.
- Remain informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in facilities management to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Mitigate risks associated with facility operations through proactive planning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide leadership in crisis management and business continuity planning for facilities.
Financial Management
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and service providers to ensure competitive pricing and quality service delivery.
- Oversees project developments and ensures they are completed as designed, in compliance with accepted plans and specifications, and on time and within approved budgets.
- Manages real estate such as site selection, lease negotiations, property acquisitions, and disposals
- Analyze market trends and evaluate potential new markets and assist in developing and refining strategies
- Ensure compliance with local and regional regulations and industry standards related to facilities management, health, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, to align facilities management strategies with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, HR, Finance, and IT to implement integrated solutions that support business objectives.
- Evaluates contractor performance to assure meeting all necessary requirements and compliance with company standards
- Build strong relationships with external partners, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in construction or facilities management/improvement or related field.
- Experience managing and overseeing greenfield factory expansions as well as incorporating a keen eye for details on day-to-day facilities functions.
- Experience with real estate management
- Understanding of market dynamics, property values, and legal aspects of real estate
- Business and financial acumen, including budget management and solid negotiation skills.
- Supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Demonstrates ability to work well with others is a matrix team environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the facility management policies, procedures, and practices.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to develop a strong team and effective internal/external partnerships.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, engineering or related field.
Preferred Qualification:
- Master’s degree in related field.
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Demonstrated turnkey for a greenfield stand up
