The Role
- The Director Of Field Operations will report directly to the Head of Field Operations. Oversees the day-to-day of directing, controlling and coordinating the various in-house teams (superintendents, foremen, associates) and subcontractors that work in the field to produce the Veev homes.
- The Director Of Field Operations will ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of our products while being responsible for all safety in the field.
- This position leads the Superintendents and teams with Project Operations Leadership to ensure field operations are planned, staffed, and executed to the highest level of performance, while also representing the field in Veev leadership and planning meetings
- Create, improve, and implement processes for effective fieldwork and collaboration including reports, safety processes, efficiency processes, and more.
- Provides Leadership, Support, and Oversight of the Superintendent Group
- Oversees development and implementation of new field operations processes as well as improvement of existing operations processes and holds others accountable for implementation of existing and new processes

- Collaborate with various departments to build weekly/monthly production and delivery schedules.
- Manage execution of day-to-day field operations in our various construction sites with the superintendents, foremen and associates.
- Enforce compliance of all company policies and procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.
- Travel between various job sites, the factory, and various vendors, as required
- Be hands on as needed.
- The successful candidate will be expected to bring creative problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to excellence to the role
- Consistent communication and relationship management with subcontractors, architects, designers, construction managers, and various personnel is of absolute importance.
- Communicate with Operations (Project management team) regarding RFI’s, material submittals, as well as schedule and manage all site inspections.
- Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites and maintain daily written logs and punch lists of all active job sites.
- Plan and manage projects from initial mobilization to completion. Including self-performing trade work when required.
Qualifications
- 10+ Years of industry experience, including at least 3 years of experience in a General Superintendent or equivalent Senior Field leadership position
- Proven record of leading large field organizations in the residential space (subdivisions, single-family homes, multi-family etc.)
- Experienced with heavy and light gauge steelwork.
- Ability to build relationships with, and influence internal and external groups and individuals
- Ability to mentor and develop direct reports and cause the development of direct reports to facilitate career advancement of field personnel and company growth
- Strong conflict management skills
- Excellent communication and team-building skills
- Working with others to develop and implement strategic initiatives and training programs to support the development of field operations team and craftspeople
- Good with scheduling experience using MS Project and/or Primavera P6 software
- Good with using field technologies, including BIM360, digital document tools, BIM implementation at field level, Bluebeam
- Has strong oral and written communication skills to manage multiple complexities and tasks while thriving in a fast-paced startup environment

- Ability to read plans quickly as well as work efficiently with tools (hand & power) as needed to expedite project requirements.
- Proficiency in all field construction processes (Plans, Permits, RFIs, Submittals).
- Background in modular construction and/or heavy machinery, or interest in the future of home construction is a plus.
- Must have a valid California Driver’s license with a clean DMV record and be able to pass a background check.
Compensation
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location is $160,000-$200,000 annually for Hayward, CA, and surrounding areas.
