WSP is currently initiating a search for Early Career Mechanical Engineers for our Arlington, Virginia office. Be involved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
You will work with a team of experienced engineers with great mentorship skills and exciting projects in the field of building construction, including HVAC, Plumbing, Lighting, Fire Protection, and Power Distribution Systems.
Your Impact
- Complete training and support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
- Learn basic principles of design in your discipline of engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, architectural, or related engineering degree.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
- The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent graduate or May 2024 Graduate in an accredited mechanical or architectural engineering program, or related Undergraduate or Graduate program.
- Experience using Revit, AutoCAD and/or Microstation software.
