CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Designer II to join our Power & Manufacturing – Generation & Energy Team at our office in St. Catharines, Ontario.

CHA is a leader in sustainable district energy, power and thermal generation systems. Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups. Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substation, and more. From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy.

 

The Electrical Engineering Designer II assists with the research, preparation, and creation of various types of construction drawings, documents, and specifications. At CHA, the professional in this role collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

 

The Electrical Engineering Designer II develops the ability to independently establish simple or routine contract drawings. This individual attains knowledge of the engineering discipline standards, codes, and systems through assisting with contract document preparation, and examines contract documents or drawings for errors. The Electrical Engineering Designer II uses drawing production software, such as AutoCAD, to create construction documents.

REQUIREMENTS






  • Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist diploma (or equivalent) or Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field required
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of document production experience in the related engineering discipline required
  • Proficient with discipline-based software, AutoCAD
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge about the respective engineering discipline
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist senior staff








SALARY RANGE:






$25.00 - $33.17 CAD

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
