Role/ Job Description:

The Advanced Technologies and Solutions division’s Engine Application Software group is looking for a person to serve as a Software Integration Engineer (SIE). The Software Integration Engineer is responsible for building and verifying application software for diesel engines in Commercial or Machine applications. The SIE will be involved in specification development for software features on diesel engines, and will work to configure, integrate, and build software content into an application flash file. The SIE will be involved in verification and validation testing to ensure the controllability and functionality of the engine application; this may include on-engine testing in the lab or field. The position provides an excellent opportunity to display technical expertise while supporting critical engine markets.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field. Must have demonstrated proficiency in the C programming language through focused academic coursework or >6 months of work experience. Must have a demonstrated understanding of embedded system development through focused academic coursework or > 6 months’ work experience. Excellent people interaction, teamwork, and oral/written communication skills are required.

Desired Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

• One years of experience in the C programming language.

• One years of experience developing software on real-time, embedded systems.

• Knowledge of diesel engine control and operation.

• Familiarity with CAN, SAE J1939 technology.

• Experience with the following tools: ClearCase, Trace 32 Debugger, CANalyzer, dSpace Test Systems, Matlab/Simulink
