The Opportunity

We are currently looking for expressions of interest from experienced Legal Assistants and Secretaries who want to join our Brisbane team on a part-time basis working two or three days per week.

The team:

Our legal support team provides the practical support our lawyers need so they can deliver the best possible service to our clients.

The team provides high-quality support to partners and throughout our practice areas. Our legal support team plays a client-facing role as our assistants are typically in regular contact with our clients on behalf of lawyers.

Key responsibilities:

Our Legal Assistants are an integral part of our firm and assist in the smooth running of our practice groups and ensure our lawyers perform at the highest level.

Your day could involve:

  • Planning for and delivering high quality, accurate work whilst managing deadlines and competing priorities
  • Managing the billing process for your direct team including clients with specific billing requirements
  • Assisting partners and lawyers with client and cost reporting requirements
  • Managing Partners internal and external appointments with appropriate meeting lead times including travel and diary management
  • Assisting with meeting preparation and the coordination of post meeting actions

Skills & experience:

We are seeking expressions of interest from candidates who demonstrate:

  • Experience in a legal secretary or legal administrative position is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Teams)
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to think ahead
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise competing demands from multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to respond to changing circumstances and work to meet deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
