BRIEF


We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate level lawyer to join our Finance team in Sydney or Melbourne! You will work closely with senior lawyers and partners on complex debt financing arrangements. This includes documenting and closing all types of financing transactions in Australia and in international markets, covering multi-billion-dollar corporate debt programs and major corporate, energy, infrastructure and real estate transactions in the APAC region.

Pinsent Masons' Banking & Finance practice has built a reputation for providing commercially astute solutions and delivering timely results with a breadth of experience across a full range of banking and restructuring disciplines. Our experience covers a broad range of industries and sectors, with a significant presence across the infrastructure and energy sectors.


Our team advises market-leading borrowers, lenders and sponsors with their debt portfolios and major transactions and is well known for handling complex multi-bank cross-border transactions, both on a secured and unsecured basis. We are a full-service banking team covering:



  • Bilateral and syndicated lending

  • Acquisition and leveraged finance

  • Debt capital markets and securitisations

  • Asset based lending, receivables finance and trade finance

  • Commercial real estate finance

  • Project finance

  • Derivatives and hedging

  • USPP, AMTN, EMTN and other capital markets financing


CANDIDATE SUMMARY

To be successful in this role, you will also have the following skills and attributes:



  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in banking & finance law, with an appetite for a diverse work mix for excellent clients, covering real estate finance, corporate finance, capital markets, acquisition finance, asset finance and/or project finance

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • An interest in market developments, economic news, and the commercial rationale behind transactions

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-performing, collegiate team, and

  • Bring energy, passion, inclusion and empathy to the role!
