Description

Capital Equipment is seeking a Fleet Manager in the Jefferson City area. This position will serve as the primary contact for the vehicle fleet and operations. This role will plan, direct, and manage programs for the acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of fleet vehicles.


Responsibilities



  • Provide support by answering inquiries and addressing concerns.

  • Effectively translate needs into clear, actionable instructions for service staff.

  • Schedule appointments and manage the service queue.

  • Process work orders with attention to detail ensuring accurate information.

  • Possessing a strong understanding of the services offered and the repair process.

  • Identifying and explaining potential issues in a clear and concise manner.

  • Deliver repair cost estimates and realistic timelines.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Recruit, train, and mentor employees, cultivating a skilled and motivated workforce.

  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Exercise critical judgement in determining vehicle safety and roadworthiness, prioritizing employee, and public safety.

  • Develop and implement plans to address operational challenges such as vehicle breakdowns, failed inspections, etc to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

  • Maintain accurate financial records, providing insights for data-driving decision-making and financial planning.

  • Implement cost-control measures and optimize resource allocation to improve profitability.

  • Cultivate strong, long-lasting customer relationships through exceptional service and regular engagement.

  • Utilize tracking systems to monitor service progress and manage inventory records.

  • Streamline parts and supplies procurement processes.

  • Establish and track key performance indicators to set departmental goals and objectives.


Qualifications



  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preferred but not required.

  • 5 years of supervisor/management experience.

  • Fleet maintenance and mechanical knowledge.

  • Proficient with diagnostic tools is a plus.

  • Proficient in computer skills and relevant software.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours/some weekends.

  • Obtain a valid driver’s license.

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen.
