Purpose:
Responsible for HR
Providing clear and consistent guidance, as well as
professional support and advice across the full range of HR activities.
Key responsibilities:
HR and Administration
Provide professional HR advice and work with senior leaders to move forward with ‘staff issues’; to
support and drive improvement.
Manage and advise on complex employee relations cases, up to and including dismissal (e.g.
disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability).
Provide support and development to line managers.
Resolve policy queries and other matters, ensuring good practice and compliance in line with policy
and legislation.
Provide quality, consistency and in still decorum of confidentiality.
Contribute to the development of the annual HR plan and staff handbooks and undertake proactive
HR work to deliver it.
Support/advise on restructures and change, including TUPE in / out / working with external business
partner(s).
Taking the lead on HR activities, e.g. ‘project’ work, policy development, developing training
materials, training programmes and supporting appeals.
Safeguard and promote the welfare of staff through own actions and effective management of
resources, policies and procedures, and in line with local and national protocols and statutory
requirements relating to safeguarding.
Lead on EDI delivery.
Support CEO/trustees with governance.
Recruitment
Lead on recruitment to all organisation roles, and ensure effective recruitment and selection
strategies are implemented/updated.
Act as first point of contact for the organisation regarding recruitment.
Source relevant and suitable advertising.
On-board / embed new staff joining the organisation to ensure a seamless transition (including due
diligence / TUPE consultation / general HR administration and support).
Support leavers/references/exit interviews.
Administrate contracts.
Work with our suppliers in ensuring best candidate experience.
Ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion best practices.
Support managers with recruitment and selection.
GDPR
Act as Data Protection Officer for the organisation.
Inform and advise the organisation and its employees about their obligations to comply with GDPR
and other data protection legislation.
Monitor compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation, including managing internal
data protection activities, advising on data protection impact assessments, employee training and
conducting internal audits.
Be the first point of contact for supervisory authorities and for individuals whose data is processed
(employees, clients, etc.).
