Job Description Summary:

Position Objective: This position oversees and is accountable for all facets of See’s Human Resources programs including performance evaluations, compensation, employee and labor relations, and performance management. Also responsible for the administration of Human Resources procedures and operations.

The base salary range for this position is: $180,000- $210,000 annually.

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and development support to Human Resources Business Partners, establishing individual long-range and short-range goals, training and development, and performance management.
  • Partners with See’s management staff and HR Business Partners to develop HR strategies that support key business needs or initiatives.
  • Develops Human Resources Business Partners as consultants with the ability to provide a full range of services. Promotes proactive, positive employee relations practices that balance the role of employee advocate and company representative.
  • Through HR Business Partners, oversees the activities of the Human Resources Department, specifically plant employment and staffing, EEO & ADA compliance, employee and union grievance handling, and personnel disciplinary action.
  • Consults with and collaborates with management staff and/or SVP/CHRO to resolve issues and provide solutions for business; primary contact with MIS department to identify and implement technology-based solutions as a means to increase productivity in HR.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for the Human Resources department on labor negotiations and contract administration.
  • Consults and coordinates with CHRO and legal counsel on litigated personnel matters.
  • Ensures compliance with various federal, state, and local ordinances including minimum wage, required benefits, workplace postings & notices; prepares and/or reviews required monthly, quarterly & annual reporting, including ACA, EEO, DFEH, AQMD.
  • Completes special projects requiring familiarity with Human Resources and the impact Human Resources actions have on the business.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance technology and innovation that will improve departmental effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Five to seven years’ strategic Human Resources management experience servicing corporate operations for a consumer goods organization, reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Retail multi-unit, multi-state and/or experience in a unionized manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws as they pertain to Human Resources practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems preferably Workday. Experience with HCM migration/conversion highly desired.
  • High level of communication and interpersonal skills from executive to front-line levels. Ability to express and present information clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced proficiency in PC skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and search engines; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Solid relationship management skills; strong collaborative, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to build trust and strong partnerships with all levels of management and employees.
  • Strong bias for action, self-motivated, and deadline-driven.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage change efficiently, proactively, and in a positive manner.
