Job Description:
The Human Resources (HR) Programs Manager will oversee all aspects of compensation, benefits and leave administration, wellness, performance management, onboarding/background check process, our HRIS system and other initiatives as needed. This role will be responsible for ensuring we provide excellent customer service to team members and employees, while streamlining HR operational processing – with a focus on documentation and automation and ensuring an exceptional user experience. The HR Programs Manager will be responsible for the integrity of systems and data while operating with the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.
The position builds strong relationships with leaders and employees to drive strategic HR programs and practices. This role serves as a subject matter expert and will collaborate with members of the HR team to implement and manage programs to drive team and organizational performance. We are looking for someone who can act as a strategic thought partner to the Executive Vice President (EVP) of HR.
The HR Programs Manager will have people leadership responsibilities for the Benefits & Compensation Specialist, Workday Specialist, and HR Specialist.
HR Programs Management:
Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive HR programs and initiatives aligned with organizational objectives. This includes the performance management, individual development planning (IDP) process, promotions, and all related compensation programs.
Collaborate with HR Leadership and other teams to be a strategic partner for current and upcoming business needs.
Onboarding and Offboarding:
Oversee a robust and comprehensive onboarding program to ensure a positive and welcoming experience.
Manage offboarding processes in partnership with the HR Business Partners to ensure a respectful experience for departing employees.
Oversee the background check administration process and other new hire requirements such as E-Verify.
Oversee drug testing program administration and alignment with client requirements.
Compensation, Benefits and Leave Administration:
Develop and administer compensation programs and maintain salary ranges.
Conduct market research, participate in compensation surveys, and conduct internal pay equity reviews.
Administer benefits programs and oversee benefit enrollment process, ensuring competitiveness, exceptional quality and compliance.
Oversee 401(k) plan administration.
Create and maintain job descriptions and conduct job analyses.
Actively participate in the Wellness Committee.
HRIS:
Provide direction and high-level project management for Workday and Viewpoint initiatives.
Partner with internal team and outside vendors on highly technical projects, implementations or operating issues.
Oversee the development of training and job aids for Workday processes for the use of employees and team leads.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment.
Provide guidance and feedback, support professional development, and conduct performance reviews.
Actively participate in and contribute to team meetings.
Lead conversation and collaboration with other teams to build relationships and implement process improvements.
Vendor Relationships:
Manage relationships with external HR service providers, including benefits administrators, HRIS systems, and other vendors.
Evaluate service levels, spend, and quality of service.
Other
Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position’s and team’s objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related degree program, or equivalent work history of a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the HR field.
2+ years of team leadership experience.
Experience designing and administering compensation programs.
Experience in benefits administration including program design.
Demonstrated track record of actively contributing to or leading HR programs and initiatives.
Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to labor, employment law, and HR practices.
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability as a change agent.
Can meet deadlines with high attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
Strong project manager with the ability to manage the work of multiple people or groups and multiple projects at any given time.
Ability to handle highly confidential data with integrity and professionalism.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, taking initiative to drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
Track record of using data and analytics to support recommendations with partners and create measurable and actionable results.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to negotiate and resolve issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness.
Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Systems experience with Workday and Viewpoint.
Familiarity with the construction industry, and labor law.
SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification
