Pay Range

$48,100.00-$66,100.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.   Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Team at our Tucson plant. The successful candidate will primarily work alongside our Electricians and Utility workers, supporting our preventative & predictive maintenance strategies to minimize facility downtime.

The Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining and repairing our production machinery; performing and documenting inspections of safety systems; delivering capability projects, performing facilities maintenance and working to continually improve equipment up-time in line with our Asset Care & Reliability (AC&R) philosophy.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Inspect equipment and submit appropriate documentation of test results and work order resolutions
  • Troubleshoot and maintain CNC machinery, compressors, waterjets, rolls, shears, formers, lasers, electron-beam drilling machines, manual machine tools, shop equipment, plant utilities and hydraulic/hydraulic equipment
  • Identify faulty equipment through observation, predictive maintenance and testing techniques
  • Source replacement parts, submit purchase requests and perform repairs
  • Work with Department Lead to continually refine the preventative maintenance strategy
  • Attend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime
  • Safely operate cranes, power tools, hoists and hand tools
  • Assess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers and specifications
  • Maintain parts and tools inventory
  • Analyze failure trends and develop remedial actions
  • Maintain electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading

Other Duties

The successful candidate will also be required to complete safety inspections, utility work, infrastructure repairs, HVAC maintenance and to assist the rest of the team as directed by the Department Lead.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate
  • 5+ years' experience in a relevant role
  • Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive drug, alcohol and background check

  • Prioritize the safety of yourself and all JM employees - Essential
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, parts catalogues and manuals - Strong
  • Competent with hand and power tools (Must provide own hand tools) - Essential
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation - Strong
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems – Strong
  • Troubleshoot FANUC CNC alarms - Strong
  • Self-starter, manage own workload against organizational priorities - Strong
  • High level of personal integrity. Work well in a team - Essential
  • Written and verbal communications skills - Strong
  • Maintain plant machinery, CNC Mills/Lathes, air compressors and cooling systems - Strong

Preferred Competencies & Skills

  • Knowledge of SAP or equivalent CMMS – Highly desirable
  • Electrical competence (voltage & continuity testing, electrical schematics) – Highly desirable
  • Operation of Forklifts and Personal Lifts – Desirable
  • Interpret and troubleshoot ladder logic – Highly Desirable
  • Crane maintenance - Desirable
  • HVAC system knowledge - Desirable
  • Facility maintenance experience - Desirable
  • Competent with Microsoft office applications – Highly Desirable

Salary & Benefits

  • Starts at $28/hr based on background and experience
  • Vacation Pay (Entitlement is 3 weeks PTO per annum, pro-rated in 1st year depending on start date)

  • Four ten-hour days (Tuesday through Friday, 05:30am – 4:00pm)
