As part of the Freightways Ltd group of companies, SHRED-X is a fast paced and rapidly growing company providing complete secure destruction services for paper, electronic, product, and textile waste, diverting over 95% of processed waste away from landfill into sustainable initiatives.


 


We are looking for an initiative-taking and experienced IT Support Technician to join our growing team at Shred-X. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and providing excellent customer service. As the IT Support Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our IT systems, ensuring our employees have the technology support they need to perform their job functions effectively.


 


Key Responsibilities:


 



  • Provide first-line technical support to employees on a variety of IT issues, including hardware, software, and networking problems.

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, hardware, and software, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.

  • Assist in maintaining the company's network infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, escalating complex problems to higher-level support as needed.

  • Provide training and support to employees on the use of IT systems and software.

  • Maintain accurate records of all IT equipment, software licenses, and support incidents.

  • Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements, making recommendations for improvements to the IT infrastructure.


 


Requirements:


 



  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT support role.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as experience with common office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems quickly and effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • A passion for technology and a drive to continuously improve the IT infrastructure.
