Role Overview






The Key Account Manager promotes and sells a portfolio of technical and/or nontechnical products and/or services and solutions directly to current and new customers.  This role informs customers of new product/service introductions and prices as well as identifies new commercial opportunities to drive business growth and deliver profitability. This position is based in Eastern Canada.









You Will






  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Supports the Key Account Director in the development of the strategic customer initiatives to deliver profit targets and customer goals.
  • Develops and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing clients to increase revenue.
  • Prepares sales forecasts and revenues for area of responsibility.
  • Negotiates, sustains and renews customer contracts.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for area of responsibility, monitor and adjust sales operations as appropriate to meet forecasts.
  • Communicates the value proposition to key industry contacts, including customers and prospects.
  • Works with all customer interfaces within accounts to influence, develop and implement improved ways of realizing the full genetic performance potential in customer farms.
  • Uses analytical thought to recommend product or services enhancements or modifications to identify innovative solutions to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Identify target and convert prospects to new business.
  • Due to specialized knowledge, typically leads teams/projects to grow business and gain market share leading by example.








Requirements






  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an agricultural sector.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Sales, modern pork production experience desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills and constructing contracts that mitigate risk and result in “win-win” relationships with customers.
  • Demonstrated record of establishing partnerships with in-house offerings to fully realize a customer and revenue opportunity.
  • Ability to understand a customer’s business environment and challenges in order to identify opportunities for establishing profitable relationships.
  • Frequent domestic travel required (approximately 50%), occasional international travel.
  • Bilingual in English & French required.
