Job Summary:

The Lab Technician has the primary responsibility of direct support for the Quality Management System, Calibration, and QA Incoming Inspection and new Product Launch activities. Individual will be responsible for supporting root cause analysis from identified nonconformance's, and customer warranty submissions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate calibration activities for internal & external items
  • Verify the currency of calibration on all new test equipment. Coordinate calibration in accordance with the equipment manufacturers or internal MUELLER recommendations.
  • Support Incoming Inspection activities for Production
  • Support new product launches which include PPAP, incoming inspection, and quality plans
  • Assist in project specific Quality Plans, Inspection, and Test Plans
  • Liaising directly with engineering, procurement, and production staff
  • Manage the document control additions to the QMS, and communication revisions and document reviews
  • Control of all quality & production department related records
  • Coordinate quality assurance and quality control activities on the project site.
  • Assist with conducting quality audits, identifying, documenting, and providing solutions for Nonconformance's, Corrective & Preventive Actions
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned to support electronic failure analysis, sample test failures, RMA field returns, and production test failures to root cause. Provides detailed summary reports on analysis
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives
  • Work closely with Operations, Planning, and Leadership to ensure Quality KPI's are met
  • Train, mentor, and coach Operators and other support personnel on assigned processes
  • Be able to provide recommendations and insights on process improvements, and cost reduction as related to the assigned processes

Competencies:

  • Proven experience using precision measuring equipment to troubleshoot machine problems
  • Problem Solving with Root Cause Analysis tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identifies and addresses problems, and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the desire to excel in a high paced work environment and function effectively with minimal direction.
  • Basic computer skills (words, excel, email)

Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with heavy equipment
  • Quality Technician or Coordinator role is highly preferred
  • Internal or Supplier auditing experience
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. and to use large torque wrench (80 ft-lb).
