The role

Our growing Commercial Litigation practice has an exciting opportunity for a Lawyer to join the Sydney team in a full time capacity.

You will join a high-performing and collaborative team with partners Ross McInnes, Katie Wood and Vincent Giang, assisting both Australian and international corporate and institutional clients with major complex commercial litigation. 

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will have exposure to major complex commercial litigation in a range of areas, including high-profile disputes, investigations and inquiries. Specifically, your key matters will involve significant corporate litigation, class actions, representative proceedings and other regulatory investigations undertaken by Australian regulatory bodies, including ASIC. 

You will be involved in briefing and liaising with counsel, drafting correspondence, preparing advices, preparing witness and expert evidence and assisting with the preparation of final and interlocutory proceedings. You will also be involved in providing our clients with key advice and assistance in conducting internal enquiries and responding to regulatory investigations into a range of issues. 

On a day to day basis you will work as part of a commercial, collaborative and dynamic team that delivers exceptional results for clients and at the same time focusses on the importance of achieving a good work-life balance and professional satisfaction.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Between 2 to 4 years post-qualification experience as a Lawyer

  • Strong commercial litigation and/or regulatory experience gained with a reputable disputes practice

  • Familiarity with Supreme/Federal Court litigation

  • Strong academic achievements

  • Thrive in an environment that values collaboration as well as independent work

  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to a positive team culture

In addition to this, we are looking for a dynamic lawyer who can contribute to the success of this practice, and who is seeking to develop their career under the expert guidance of leading litigation Partners and senior lawyers.
