Wood is presently looking to hire a Lead Electrical Engineer for ADNOC Offshore Central Engineering Division in Abu Dhabi. Below are more details about the role.
Responsibilities
To lead the team of Engineers and Designers
Responsible for the design and approval of all electrical work on assigned projects
Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used on assigned projects meet the Client’s requirements
Participate in project scheduling and project review activities
Carry out calculations & studies required to finalize electrical equipment specifications
Prepare material requisitions and technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment on assigned projects
Assists the designers for the preparation of electrical drawings such as SLDs, Protection & Control schematics and layout drawings.
Review vendor’s document to ensure equipment vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages
Review all third-party discipline design work
Understand the contract quality management system and ensure these requirements are met
Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimize areas of interface, during the design development, review and check processes
Proficient in the use of ETAP, Navisworks, Lighting calculation Software (Dialux etc.) and MS- OFFICE
Set up and maintain electrical databases on assigned projects
Carry out electrical engineering work as required by the lead electrical engineer in accordance with the agreed project schedule
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT’s) for electrical equipment (or equipment with significant electrical content) on assigned projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC region
Must have at least three (3) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects, managing team of Engineers and designers
Offshore experience is must, whilst ADNOC experience is desired
Fully coherent in all international codes and standards
Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required
Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn / Flexible with a can-do attitude
Working hands on Experience on SPEL
Must have working knowledge and experience of electrical discipline relevant offshore/onshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications and practices
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
