Job Description:
The Legal Assistant will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel and perform various tasks related to the legal and compliance team, corporate governance, and administrative support.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Company transactions by handling all signatures, consents, officer certificates, contracts, and incumbency documents; communicate effectively with outside counsel as needed
  • Edit and prepare for execution NDAs, various contracts, amendments, assignments and terminations; track and manage all inbound and outbound agreements for Goal and its subsidiaries via the legal contract management system
  • Assist with Company litigation by coordinating the internal collection of information pertinent to the litigation, scheduling follow ups and meetings, and communicating with outside counsel
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping agendas and providing timely reminders; take notes during meetings and assist management with scheduling
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately for all company agreements, litigation, and corporate filings
  • Assist in  preparing, filing and managing corporate governance items, including appointment of officers and board members, corporate trust documents, Annual Reports for the Secretary of State(s), and DBA filings for Goal and its subsidiaries
  • Assist in and work with the Legal team to improve operational efficiencies and effectiveness; legal liaison within the organization
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned

Education & Other Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree in Business Administration or related field, Paralegal or Legal Assistant Certification, or equivalent experience
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues within consumer lending
  • Able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
  • Summarize documents, compose communications to clients or other parties
  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills and demonstrated engagement in the community
  • Occasional travel
  • Microsoft Office: 5 years (Required)
  • Legal Secretary, Assistant or Paralegal: 3+ years
