The council is a vibrant authority and makes hundreds of millions of pounds worth of purchases of goods works and services each year. Many of the purchases have been subject to tender and this role is primarily to formulate the final contract following award. The post holder will be responsible also for the execution of the agreement between all parties and any other associated file keeping matters. The post holder will also be responsible for assisting the legal officers in the team for closing and completing non-standard legal agreements too as required. Person Essentials A candidate must have the following: 1. Be organised, diligent and have good attention to detail 2. Experience of working in a busy legal environment 3. Experience of using a case management system 4. Experience of using electronic signature software 5. Be willing to come to the office in Whitechapel a minimum of 1 day per week 6. Be computer literate in all major Microsoft packages and also Adobe 7. Experience of similar administrative roles 8. Be polite, friendly and helpful Person Desirables It would be desirable for the Candidate to have: 1. Experience of using Docusign 2. Experience of using Norwel / Prescient plus Case management System 3. Rudimentary understanding of the basis of how contracts are formed from a legal perspective. Working Conditions As above the candidate must be willing to come into the office in Whitechapel (directly opposite Whitechapel tube station) a minimum of 1 day per week as the Council still deals with some paper In line with all Council locum contracts working hours are a maximum of 35 hours per week with contracts issued on a 3 monthly basis The Council will provide a laptop and all electronic working must be with that laptop (access to the Councilβs systems is only through Council laptops in any case) There is a requirement to time record the time bundling contract |
