Our company is a Southern Florida area non-profit pro bono law firm. Every day, we work hard to meet the legal needs of a large, diverse, multiethnic community across Broward County. Our mission is to provide high-quality, free civil legal advice, representation, and education to the disadvantaged of Broward County. We have more than 125 employees, including more than 50 attorneys, who provide free services and resources across a broad range of civil legal issues that impact health, safety, and self-sufficiency. Position Summary
The MISSION UNITED Veterans Pro Bono Project has an opening for a full-time Legal assistant/Paralegal. The ideal candidate will have experience researching, drafting pleadings under attorney supervision, scheduling, and having familiarity in the areas of Housing/Landlord-tenant, Public Benefits, and Veteran Benefits. Experience with veterans' issues is preferred, but not mandatory. This is a great opportunity to be part of a grassroots Veterans Advocacy program that is being replicated across the country.
This position requires good oral and written advocacy skills and a willingness to be an advocate in for the indigent and veteran client population.
