Job Description
Our client is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant with 3-5 years experience to join their legal assistant team to contribute to providing dedicated assistance within the Litigation practice group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Litigation practice of Associates and Partners
- Preparing and revising correspondence and e-mails
- Transcribing, editing and modifying documents
- Performing all administrative tasks related to the position, including booking meetings, travel arrangements, events
- Working closely with other administrative staff to ensure professionals have comprehensive administrative support
- Participate in special projects as required
Skills and Experience Required:
- Legal Assistant Certificate or Diploma
- Minimum of 2+ years' experience as a Legal Assistant or comparable role, experience working at a large law firm or within professional services would be an asset
- Proven experience with document formatting
- Knowledge of Alberta Rules of Court would be an asset, as well as exposure to various legal practices
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Capable of working well under pressure
- Ability to handle multiple competing and urgent deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable to change coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Positive outlook and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to take initiative and lead independently when necessary
- Ability to work 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
