Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a Maintenance Electrician 3/4 to join our team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Promontory, Utah facility.
The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong background in new installation and industrial construction. Although the title being posted is Maintenance Electrician this specific job posting is to fill an electrician position in the Construction Services department.
Roles and Responsibilities:
A strong candidate should have experience in the planning & installing of new or modified electrical installations in an industrial manufacturing setting. This can include but is not limited to, installation of Motor Control Centers, controls, instrumentation, main distribution electrical systems, and lighting systems.
Some more typical components that this candidate will support installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of are pumps, valves, overhead doors, mixers, conveyors, UPS systems, cooling towers, chillers, transformers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, warning lighting, and many others.
Some non-typical components that this candidate will support installation, modification, troubleshooting or maintenance of include machining centers, CNC machines, filament winders, energetic component mixers, explosion proof electrical systems, autoclaves, overhead cranes and hoists, specialized tooling, and many other components used in the manufacturing of solid rocket motors.
Installations must be consistent with specifications and local building and electrical codes. A strong candidate will have the ability to follow diagrams, schematics, and blueprints and maintain a strict attention to safety.
This candidate must be proficient in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembly, and installation of various electrical raceways (i.e. gutters, cable tray, conduit, etc.) with a thorough understanding of the trade specific tools required to manipulate and install said materials.
A strong candidate should also have strong knowledge and experience to install, understand and troubleshoot from electrical/instrumentation schematics PLC’s, HMI, and instrumentation respectively.
Basic Qualifications
This position can be filled at either a level 3 or level 4
Basic Qualifications for a level 03:
• High School or GED
• Utah State Journeyman Electrician License (not residential journeyman license)
• 4 years of industrial or heavy commercial experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent work ethic and ambition
• Able to work at high elevations and around hazardous materials
• General experience in electrical, refrigeration, HVAC and instrumentation
Basic Qualifications for a level 04:
• High School or GED
• Utah State Journeyman Electrician License (not residential journeyman license)
• 6 years of industrial or heavy commercial experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent work ethic and ambition
• Able to work at high elevations and around hazardous materials
• General experience in electrical, refrigeration, HVAC and instrumentation
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master or Electrical Contractor license
• Industrial experience
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical controls (Allen Bradley PLC’s, Instrumentation, Checkout Plans, Low Voltage Signal Wiring, etc.).
• Having a general understanding of programming and ladder logic is a plus.

Salary Range: $54,400.00 - $90,600.00Salary Range 2: $64,700.00 - $107,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
