Maintenance Technician

Pay: $28/hr - $34/hr (additional $2 shift premium) 

$3,000 sign on bonus. $1,000 paid out at 30 days, $1,000 paid out at 90 days & $1,000 paid out at 180 days.
$750 attendance bonus. $250 will be paid out at your 1st, 2nd & 3rd month for perfect attendance. 

Valtir is hiring a  3rd shift Maintenance Technician III, to support our production needs. The role requires a knowledgeable technician in overhead cranes, furnaces, heating systems, and pumps to successfully support the plant and maintaining the day-by-day tasks dedicated to deploy the safety, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement, initiatives.
 

What you'll do:

  • Troubleshoot and perform mechanical/electrical repairs on various types of equipment including cranes, furnaces, heating systems and pumps, forklifts, presses, mills, etc..
  • Determine root cause of equipment problems and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime 
  • Use mobile equipment including, scissors lift, boom lift, forklift, crane and other to perform job tasks
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all tools, machinery and equipment 
  • Complete individual work orders in a thorough and timely manner 
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Working Environment:

  • Conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, and noisy.
  • The job is within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
  • Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
  • Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant.  Dependable job attendance is expected.

What you'll need:

  • Sophisticated knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics with the ability to use this knowledge to install, maintain, and repair plant equipment
  • Experience with repairs on Electrical and Mechanical equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to operate various electric, pneumatic, and other hand tools
  • Ability to work at high heights
  • Ability to become certified for the following: NFPA70E, fall protection, confined space
  • Must be able to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
