Marketing Specialist (Marketing)

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, this position will oversee details, logistics and resources for national marketing efforts and execute marketing campaigns and tests to reach Marketing’s goals of resourcing the mission of InterVarsity. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist will manage our marketing audience experiences and journeys.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Personal:
- Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world
- Model biblical discipleship through all of life
Administer various marketing tests and campaigns:
- Develop and optimize compelling and creative content: emails, video, landing pages, digital advertising, social media, and proposals for special projects
- Deploy and track email campaigns
- Ideate, review, and proofread copy for direct mail campaigns.
- Update web content as needed.
- Generate or translate existing resources and content into assets for campaigns
- Collaborate with in-house production and communication teams to steward successful campaigns and tests
- Analyze data to measure and report the performance of marketing test and campaigns
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement though marketing analysis and research
Steward prospective and active donors’ marketing and communication experience:
- Develop and execute donor experience strategy for prospect and active audiences that ensure a positive experiences for the donor and meet our marketing objectives
- Build automations to improve customer journeys and program engagement
- Monitor and maintain records of marketing and donor activity
- Maintain brand consistency throughout all communications
- Monitor emerging trends and provide recommendations on best practices for all external communications: content marketing, social media, and other related fields
Contribute to the effectiveness of our marketing program:
- Assist with relationship maintenance of key stakeholders
- Prepare and provide reports as requested
- Independently research and develop new and innovative marketing ideas for presentation
- Assist in the development and growth of intern program
- Collaborate successfully within the Marketing Team and with other departments
- Stay current with technology InterVarsity uses to support the above functions
- Attend workshops and classes as necessary to hone marketing skills
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends
Develop and maintain a funding base:
- Develop and maintain a personal support team for prayer and financial support through visits, phone calls, and regular prayer letters
- Raise an agreed upon amount of personal financial support
QUALIFICATIONS
- Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Faith
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required
- Marketing experience preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with Mailchimp preferred
- A working knowledge of current Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
- Ability to manage multi-channel digital marketing campaigns
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files
- Ability to take charge of tasks and work independently without close supervision
- Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment
- Strong attention to detail, strong time management, ability to develop and follow procedures for doing work.
Pay Range: $39,288.00 - $52,392.00 per year
