As our Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that daily meal deliveries run smoothly across multiple counties, directly impacting the lives of those in need. You’ll be the driving force behind recruiting, training, and building lasting relationships with volunteers, empowering them to make a difference in their communities.
Duties & Responsibilities-
- Manages volunteer recruitment. Develops and implements strategies to attract, train and retain volunteers.
- Maintain a robust corporate volunteer program. Once corporate routes are secured, ensure they are well managed.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary.
- Work with MOW Program Manager to manage routes including size, area covered, volunteers and substitutes working the routes, drop-off and pick-up locations, and maintenance of locations.
- Answers the volunteer coordinator's phone, text, and emails in a timely, professional manner. This includes handling scheduling issues, questions, and concerns. Coordinate volunteer and substitute volunteer's scheduling to ensure coverage of all daily routes
- Oversee assessment and intake process for new clients. This includes initial intake, performing state-required assessments, placing clients on routes, and making sure they are set up and comfortable. Information gathered could lead to referring clients to other programs within the company as well.
- Coordinates annual volunteer appreciation events. This includes working alongside managers to organize locations, gifts, food, presentations, and games, to create events that make volunteers feel appreciated and recognized.
- Acts as a backup driver for Meals on Wheels employee drivers when needed. This includes preparing volunteer bags at the County Jail, preparing trucks for delivery and driving to drop-off locations.
- Answers the main phone line and responds to clients. Resolves questions, concerns, or requests. Receives calls and walk-in clients and provides general customer service.

Record keeping, data entry, file archiving, inbound phone calls, and reporting.

- Accurate data entry skills
- Requires an ability to function between various database
- Must be able to operate multi-line phone systems, standard office machines, and equipment

Ability to work comfortably with senior citizens
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid State of Utah Driver’s License
- High school Diploma or equivalent.

Two years of related experience. Associate or Bachelors degree preferred.

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Some travel is required in this position. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires sitting for long periods of time and performing computer-related work. The individual must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
