American BOA, Inc located in Cumming, GA is an industry leader in flexible metal products supporting the automotive and aerospace industries. We are looking for talented engineers to work with us on several exciting projects. 

The position will provide support for flexible metal piping products (bellows, expansion joints, hoses) being sold into the Aerospace, Automotive, and General Industries. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to product design, development and testing, process engineering, tooling design, equipment troubleshooting, prototype development and working with an interdisciplinary team to develop solutions to customer demands. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing mechanical systems and components that meet customer requirements.
  • Developing prototypes of mechanical systems and components
  • Testing mechanical systems and components to ensure proper functionality.
  • Troubleshooting existing mechanical systems
  • Oversee and manage multiple projects or initiatives.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Support existing equipment and products as well as identifying improvement opportunities for the equipment and process
  • Develop and maintain robust documentation for all purchased and internally developed equipment
  • Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules
  • Evaluate product for manufacturability and provide feedback to internal and external customers
  • Prioritize safety, user interfaces, and ergonomics into designs
  • Writing equipment specifications, installation, work instructions, technical manuals, training, and qualification protocols as well as supporting all equipment and product validation activities


Preferred Skills and Work Experience 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with 5 years preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability required, especially as related to machined and welded components.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with sheet metal forming, tube bending, and welding of stainless steels and nickel alloys strongly preferred
  • Must be proficient in a current CAD package for modeling, drafting, and assembly. Solidworks experience a plus
  • Experienced in working with machine shops to realize a novel design
