What We Need  
 
Kymeta is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work in an integrated product team environment.
 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
Job Description: 
 
  • Work in an integrated product team environment focused on transitioning research-oriented antenna projects to structured engineering designs ready for manufacturing with full documentation and engineering specific configuration management traceability.
 
  • Collaborate with RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering and Quality to develop an integrated product.
 
  • Develop drawings, documentation and perform formal Product Data Management (PDM), including incorporation of design principles for manufacturability, assembly, and test.
 
  • Engagement with cross-discipline engineering teams and product teams.
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 
 
  • 2 years of mechanical engineering experience including 2 years of experience in each of the following:  
 
  • Experience with SolidWorks for design and simulation (ex. Stress Analysis) and  Solidworks Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Experience using 3D Solid Modeling to design parts for various manufacturing processes, including machining and plastic injection molding.
  • Experience utilizing Mechanical Design Principles including mechanical fastening, structural bonding, and electronics packaging.
  • Experience in designing and building tight-tolerance prototypes and providing design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) recommendations.
  • Experience conducting thermal, shock, vibration, and humidity analysis on mechanical parts to evaluate durability and reliability.
  • Experience creating detailed drawings with an understanding of ASME Y14.5 - 2009 Standard for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with engineering configuration management, including bill of materials (BOM), engineering change notices (ECN), and engineering change orders (ECO).
  • Experience developing and documenting new processes for New Technology Introduction (NTI) and its corresponding training plans.
  • Experience programming and using measurement tools, including Optical Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM), and utilizing PC-DMIS or similar software.
  • Experience in identifying and setting up equipment for rapid prototyping, including 3D printing, and utilizing processing equipment.
  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional technical team, collaborating closely with various engineering disciplines (such as Radio Frequency, Electrical, and Reliability Engineering) and other departments to develop and integrate comprehensive product solutions.
  • Experience communicating technical information and documenting processes using standard Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
 
Experience may be gained concurrently.
 
EDUCATION  
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or the foreign degree equivalent. 
 
COMPENSATION  
 
Kymeta is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In the spirit of pay transparency, we have determined the salary range for this position to be $80,000 to $145,000. 
 
NOTE: This position qualifies for the company’s employee incentive referral program.
